The Reykjanes Penninsula is located in Southwestern Iceland and is where Keflavik International Airport and the spectacular Blue Lagoon are located. The landscape is rugged with few trees and contains volcanic craters, black sand beaches, caves, lava fields, hot springs, lighthouses, fishing ports, a golf course on the ocean, and three geothermal power plants. It is one of the best places in the world to see the intersection of two tectonic plates — the North American and the Euroasian.
